Here is a Summary of some of the more important Rules of the Game of Poleball:
Offense - The team on offense is the team that gets the ball on a kickoff or otherwise after the other team has scored or on some other turnover event, and being on offense, can score points at its goal. The team gets the ball out of bounds at midfield after the other team has just scored 1 point. If there is a score of 2 points or more there is a kickoff. The offense moves the ball to its goal by its players running with the ball, kicking it,or throwing it to other offense players. Players can run the ball to the goal to score 1 point or they can throw or kick the ball from outside the 15 yard arc to try to score a higher number of points. When an offense player with the ball is touched by a defense player, he/she must stop if running or moving from place to place, and now, he/she cannot score, but can only throw or kick the ball to another offense player. However, if he/she is touched by a second defense player before getting rid of the ball, the ball is given to the defense, and the defense now becomes the offense.
Defense - The team on defense does not have the ball, but tries to take the ball from the offense by intercepting it or by having two of its team members touch the offense player who has the ball while he/she still has the ball. The ball cannot be intercepted by the defense while it is in the air, but after it hits the ground, the defense can try to intercept it. The defense can also get the ball as a turnover when the ball goes out of bounds and an offense player was the last to touch it.
A safety rule is that a player can't purposely collide with another player. Another rule is that a player can't try to hurt another player, and another rule is that players can't hit the ball with their head or neck.
